Bloomingdale Farmers’ Market

radishesWhen: Sundays, 9am-1pm from May 2-Dec 19, 2021
Where: In front of Big Bear Café, at the corner of 1st & R Streets, NW

The Bloomingdale Farmers’ Market ( or “BFM” as local food lovers call it) is located on a very short block of R Street between First and Florida Avenue (right next to the Big Bear Cafe and across from a newly renovated playground). BFM is a community gathering place for the Bloomingdale,  Eckington,  Edgewood, Bates, Truxton Circle, LeDroit Park, RIA, Stronghold and nearby Shaw neighborhoods.  We have a wonderful group of producers who bring a large variety of handmade cheeses, fruits, eggs, vegetables, grass-fed meat, preserves, mushrooms, herbal teas, local vinegars, breads, pastries, pies, cookies, ice cream, sauces, plants…

How to get here:

  • METRO: we’re 6 blocks away from Shaw/Howard University (Green Line) and 6 blocks away from New York Avenue (Red Line).
  • BUS: we are mere steps from the 90/92/93/X3 metro bus stop.
  • BIKE: Capital Bikeshare across the street on  Florida and R, but if you ride your own bike, there’s plenty of bike parking and The Bike House volunteers can help you tune it up for free.
